In order to get this set bonus you need to enhance every piece of the armor set at least twice. However, if you have a complete set of armor, you can enhance it to get a set bonus. That means having one piece on will give you level one heat resistance, two pieces will give you level two resistance and three pieces will give you level three resistance. For example, each item in the Flamebreaker armor set will grant one level of stackable heat resistance. Individual armor items will offer various resistances. To make the most of your armor sets you should be switching frequently depending on what you’re doing in the game.

If you're looking for armor to keep you alive in very hot areas, we've got you covered on exactly how to find it. There are also armor sets for swimming, stealth and more. Any time you need to make a long climb you should be switching to this armor set. For example, the Climber’s armor set increases your climbing speed by default, and if you have the set bonus it reduces stamina while climbing as well. While defense should be your first priority, there are several armor sets that work well for specific tasks.
Of course some of the armor sets in Breath of the Wild you won’t be able to get for awhile (although you can get the Climbing Gear pretty quickly), but it’s good to know what’s out there. There are plenty of armor sets to collect, such as the Climbing Gear, but finding these armor sets and discovering the bonus stats available for each armor set can be a daunting task.
